The Goldfish Ceremony
Meaning - This ceremony visually depicts how the couple is combining their together by getting married and will share a home
Time - About 1 to 2 minutes
Supplies
- Two small bowls each containing only water and a goldfish
- A center larger fish bowl, preferably decorate with aquarium items
Note: The large bowl has some water in it, but enough room is left for all the water from the two smaller bowls to be poured into it.
Placement - This Ceremony Enhancement is done after the Ring Ceremony and before the Pronouncement.

We have here two goldfish in their own individual bowls. They represent you _____ and _____ as you come to this ceremony today.
You have come from different backgrounds. You have walked different paths. You are different individuals.
But your love has transcended these differences and brought you to this day. So as an outward symbol of the inner marriage that has taken place between you, I ask you to now unite your fish in the larger bowl.
Just as the fish now share one environment and one home so may it be with the two of you. Our ceremony has celebrated the union into which you are entering where you have become one in spirit, soul and body. All of us here join now in blessing you as you go forth in your marriage to create one home and one family.
